About Us

Carol Grimshaw | Owner & Principal Lawyer

With more than 20 years' of industry experience, our Principal Carol Grimshaw brings modern, client focussed service to the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne.

While achieving her LLM (LP) from Monash University, LLM (Applied) from the College of Law, and Bachelor of Legal Studies from La Trobe University, and becoming a Graduate Fellow of the College of Law, Carol worked in small to top tier private law firms, in semi-government, and government organisations. The combination of a curious mind and a drive to help others secured Carol's admission to practice in 2010.  Supporting solicitors and barristers at varying levels of their careers while studying in intensive modes to become qualified means as a business lawyer Carol knows the challenges and juggles you face in life and business.

Carol tailors services to meet your needs including outsourced legal work or in-house at your business as a freelancer.

Practical knowledge benefits you in transactional and court based work, in disputes at member organisations, regulatory bodies, from the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to the Supreme Court of Victoria, and Federal Courts of Australia.

How We Work

We are transparent with you about costs, at each stage of your matter.  We use modern technologies for your benefit.  We will tell you when we can't do the work, and will clearly define the work we accept from you.   When any of that changes, we will update you and provide strategies to help you achieve your goals.

We want to see you apply your hard earned resources to your life and business development, instead of our growth.

That's why an ounce of prevention is better than cure: simply, lawyers are better hired early in your transactions, for advice and structuring, negotiating the deal, or minimising your exposure in a dispute including to the other side's costs.

While we can rally an effective team at the last minute, your interests are best met with early legal advice and a properly informed legal team.

What you tell us is the basis on which we work.  Law gives special protection to the lawyer/client relationship to allow you to keep us informed and to obtain candid advice.  And that's how we deliver our advice to you, in an informed and candid way.  After all, that's our job.
